Why do you think it is important to study diversity and inclusion? I think that studying diversity and inclusion is the only way to truly better our communities to their full potential. It is essential that we discover how perceptions may form in various cultures and perpetuate systemic inequality for marginalized groups. This way, preventive measures can be implemented in order to make historically-inequitable spaces more welcoming for all people.

Describe a time you felt socially connected to UCLA? I felt socially connected to UCLA when I became a Learning Assistant for Physics 5CL. Becoming a Learning Assistant taught me how to encourage collaborative learning and create a more comfortable and engaging environment to study STEM. Through this experience, I was able to better myself and learn how to be a good leader and facilitator while also helping my peers master their course material.
