Why do you think it is important to study diversity and inclusion?
Everyone has many different, intersecting identities, and when individual voices are left out of a conversation, everyone loses the opportunity to see an issue from other perspectives. Studying diversity is essential to ensuring that such spaces are inclusive of every identity, and recognizes the ways in which certain voices have been systemically silenced and left out. Centering marginalized voices is key to promoting diversity and inclusion, and one way that this can be done is through psychological research.

Describe a time you felt socially connected to UCLA?
When I first visited UCLA, everyone was exceptionally inviting and considerate- I knew immediately that this was somewhere I wanted to be! Learning more about all  of the different groups and resources on campus has made me feel even more welcome, and I'm looking forward to becoming a part of this community.
