Why do you think it is important to study diversity and inclusion?

 It is important to study diversity because culture plays a key role in shaping the way people think and behave. Studying the variable of culture offers insight into the mechanisms that determine who is included in academia, the workplace, and other contexts of interest.

Describe a time you felt socially connected to UCLA?

 I felt socially connected to UCLA when I went to a Week 0 event by my Christian fellowship club, Grace on Campus. So many people introduced themselves to me, and around 5 of the club members already invited me out for dinner the next week. Seeing how welcoming these fellow students were made me feel like I was truly a valued member of the UCLA student body.
